DJ Dragonfly and Off The Matt Into The World present the exclusive Los Angeles sneak preview of 1 Giant Leap Part 2: "What About Me", and DJ'd global dance event following the film – not released till spring of 2009!
Please consider yourself invited to a very special Los Angeles sneak preview of the Spring 2009 release of "What About Me"?, the sequel to the acclaimed and double Emmy-nominated 1 Giant Leap (2002).
Like its precursor, "What About Me"? is a spiritual quest and incredible world music travelogue. Viewers need not have seen the first film to grasp the significance of the sequel.. "What About Me"? further takes 1 Giant Leap's concept of presenting famous and not-so-famous musicians and new edge thinkers, poets, writers and philosophers in an intertwining dialogue of contemporary expression. In "What About Me"? themes such as Love, Sex, Madness, Money, Childhood and Media are the grist of thought for luminaries such as Eckhart Tolle, Noam Chomsky, Ram Dass, Neale Donald Walsh, Gabrielle Roth, Tim Robbins and many more, all of whom expand with profound personal reflection on the subject matter at hand. All the while the film score crisscrosses the globe and we witness musicians from Third World ghettos and remote villages contributing deeply compelling layers to each track (as do Michael Franti, Krishna Das, KD Lang, Baba Maal, Speech, Michael Stipe, Carlos Santana and many, many more big names).
The result is an epic 50 location hop scotch of insightful and highly entertaining exploration of the human condition.The event is followed by a DJ'd dance set by DJ Dragonfly, spinning a weave of funk whacked, sitar drenched, drum fueled, bass driven global electronica!
